Ok, I'm military. If you've never heard of CRS disease, the full title is "Can't Remember Shit" disease. It's a symptom that can accompany any number of maladies, the most prevalent being DS or "Dumbass Disease." Many people suffer from DS disease without even knowing it. You probably know someone struggling with it.
Anyway, back to CRS. Most everybody has at one time walked into a room at home, then said to themselves, "why did I come here?" That's when it starts. You know you're starting to suffer stage 2 when from wherever you happen to wherever you want to be, you have to constantly saying, "I'm going for my phone. The phone. My phone." Stage 3 is when you forget what you're supposed to be saying halfway there.
This is where it's causing me problems. I'm doing the wiring on a cute little house for our daughter. If you don't already know, the meter base and emergency cutoff are on the outside, and your breaker panel is on the inside. I was working on getting the service entry wire through the house from one point to the other. If you've never tried to bend 4/0 gauge aluminum wire, it's almost as hard as bending a tire jack handle.
The wire has to have PVC conduit from the weather head (up top where the power company puts their wires) to inside the house. You have to cut it to whatever length you need. Since I couldn't put the meter base where I'd already cut the hole in the house (ok electricians, I've already called myself that), I had to run conduit. Which required quite a few 90 degree turns around sharp curves in certain fittings. This is where CRS stage 3.5 starts
I needed to cut conduit to a certain length. So I go in the house to get the sawzall. When I got back outside, I realized I forgot a tape measure. It was inside. Back outside again, I measure how long the piece of conduit needed to be. And had to go inside to get a stinking pencil. OK, back outside, I've got my length of conduit measured, marked, and the sawzall ready to do some work. Guess what I forgot this time. Oh, yeah! I needed to run a damn extension cord or else the flipping (or something like that) sawzall doesn't work!
I spent all morning and part of the afternoon playing around with that stuff and I think through therapy, I'll get past it.
